Morningstar Advisor Workstation Now Available on MorningstarAdvisor.com

CHICAGO, Aug 28, 2001 – Morningstar, Inc., a leading provider of investment information and analytical tools, today announced that the Morningstar® Advisor WorkstationSM, a comprehensive set of online tools for investment planning professionals, is now available on www.MorningstarAdvisor.com, its Web site for financial advisors.

The Morningstar Advisor Workstation combines daily updates of stock and mutual fund information, daily security and portfolio level alerts, portfolio analysis and asset allocation tools, hypothetical illustrations, client management tools, and individual and batch report processing capabilities -- all in one Web application.

"Our launch of the Workstation marks a significant advance in how we provide data and services to financial advisors," said Chris Boruff, president of Morningstar's advisor business. "Advisors typically spend long hours piecing together different software systems. With the Workstation, advisors will be able to streamline their practices, produce powerful new reports, and spend more time with their clients."

Morningstar Advisor Workstation also provides institutions and their representatives with flexible Web-based research, planning, and proposal tools. Financial institutions can customize the individual tools they make available to their representatives, define which investments advisors will view, control access to the planning tools, specify activity sequences, and customize features and methodologies including asset allocations.

Advisors may register for a 30-day free trial of the Workstation by clicking on the "Workstation" tab on MorningstarAdvisor.com.
