| Richard Robbins is general counsel and corporate secretary for Morningstar. He is responsible for directing Morningstar’s legal department and managing its relationships with outside counsel. He also oversees Morningstar’s compliance department and corporate communications. Before joining Morningstar in 2005, Robbins was a partner at Sidley Austin Brown & Wood LLP. Previously, he was an associate in the firm’s corporate and securities practice. Before attending law school, Robbins worked for Digital Equipment Corporation as a senior software engineer. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a juris doctor degree with honors from the University of Chicago Law School. He is a member of the American, Illinois, and Chicago Bar Associations. |
