The Team: The Data division of Morningstar is responsible for collecting and maintaining data on approximately 380,000 investment offerings, including stocks, mutual funds, and similar vehicles. Morningstar`s Commodity Data business aggregates market and fundamental data from several hundred sources for blue chip customers engaged in commodity trading and risk management. Morningstar Commodity Data`s strengths lie in building creative software solutions for market data collection, organization, and distribution coupled with a suite of applications to query data at the desktop and feed it to downstream enterprise applications.
The Role: We are looking for an experienced leader to assume overall responsibility for Commodity Data`s continued success including achievement of revenue, profit, and growth objectives. In this role, you will lead a 100-person global data operations, software development, product management, sales, and client services team. This position is based in our Chicago office.
Responsibilities
+ Interact closely with customers, data vendors, and internal stakeholders to define and drive product, market, and sales strategies for future revenue growth.
+ Establish and execute long-term strategic plans to build the business.
+ Provide executive support to key client and vendor relationships.
+ Drive world-class customer service throughout the organization.
+ Optimize operations and processes to continuously improve data delivery and data quality.
+ Use technology to innovate the delivery of our products to clients.
+ Collaborate with peers and the business unit management team to make Morningstar a great place to work.
Requirements

+ Strong oral and written presentation skills.
+ Subject matter expertise in the global energy and commodities data business, and solid understanding of CTRM and ETRM software.
+ An understanding of market data delivery technology and an ability to communicate it credibly to customers is equally important.
+ Bachelor`s degree; a MBA, CFA, or other advanced degree/accreditation is preferred.
