The Team: Morningstar`s Corporate Human Resources team seeks an Employee Development Manager.
The Role: We are looking for a creative mind to lead our global employee development and learning initiatives. In this role, you will work with the global management and human resources teams to evaluate business needs, develop programs, and oversee their rollout across Morningstar globally. This is a unique opportunity to create new programs that benefit Morningstar employees. This position is based in our Chicago office.
Responsibilities
+ Lead the Morningstar Development Program for US entry-level employees; oversee all aspects of the program with the ultimate goal of identifying and developing the future leaders of Morningstar.
+ Analyze and project Morningstar`s needs for junior and mid-level talent; manage the life cycle of the Morningstar Development Program to meet those talent needs.
+ Expand the Development Program to meet the junior and mid-level talent needs of Morningstar`s international operations.
+ Oversee the learning and development function at Morningstar by working with the coordinator, who is responsible for global learning and development programs for all levels of employees, including new employee orientation, mentoring programs, leadership development, and job-specific training.
+ Work with HR representatives, employees, and managers to determine continuing development needs for individuals and departments and implement best practice initiatives to ensure Morningstar is developing talent to help the company succeed.
+ Manage the life cycle of initiating new training and development programs by assessing needs, creating pilot programs, requesting budget for expanding pilots, managing full scale implementations, and monitoring the impact of all programs.
Requirements
+ A thorough understanding of Morningstar`s business and the ability to be pro-active in getting to know managers and employees.
+ Minimum seven years of business experience, with solid career progression. Manager coaching, organization development or training considered a plus.
+ Proven ability to problem-solve and multi-task.
+ Ability to collaborate with and influence a diverse internal client base in a non-hierarchical organization.
+ Strong project management and facilitation skills and the ability to mentor others in these domains.
+ Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
