HR Business Partner
The Team: The Corporate team unites a variety of functions at Morningstar including design, marketing, finance, quality, human resources, corporate communications, legal, compliance, strategic planning, and technology with the goal of keeping our business running smoothly. Each of these functions plays an essential role in supporting our company’s infrastructure, day-to-day operations, and ongoing strategic initiatives.

The Role: At Morningstar, the Human Resources Business Partner works collaboratively and creatively with the greater HR team and their client group by providing tactical and strategic HR leadership. In this role, you will you will work as the HR expert for a client group, while contributing to the greater global HR team at Morningstar.

+ Supports client group by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and applications for managers and employees
+ Enhances client group and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
+ Provide guidance to managers/supervisors and employees on coaching, mentoring, training/development; corrective action, performance management, rewards and recognition, etc.
+ Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to client group
+ Establish human resources objectives in line with client group objectives
+ Collaborates with group head and senior managers by leading the semi-annual performance management process and compensation
+Manages employee relations and coaching processes for client group
+ Work closely with the talent acquisition and learning and development teams to identify talent and opportunities for growth within the company

+ BA/BS or equivalent experience
+ Broad experience with a wide array of HR programs/practices including compensation, performance management, leadership development, training, coaching, employee relations, employment law, etc.
+ Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities in a fast paced environment
+Experience with working on a global HR team
+5+ years of Senior HR leadership experience and managing HR functions remotely
+Experience with Workday a plus
+Experience in financial services, financial research or internet start-up a plus
