Morningstar® Investment Guides combine Investment Profiles™ with insight and commentary from Morningstar editors and analysts to create a valuable informational resource for investors. Morningstar offers an array of standard editorial components and optional content to include in an Investment Guide. Clients can select from either standard cover designs or cover designs created by Morningstar to meet specific requirements. Investment Guides are available quarterly, semiannually, or annually and delivered in digital or hardcopy format.

How-to pages - Essential insight using the Investment Guide. For example, “How to Use the Morningstar Rating” explains how the rating is determined and its role in evaluating investments. “How to Use the Morningstar Style Box” explains the uses of this visual tool for developing strategies and managing portfolios.

User’s Guide - Detailed definitions for all of the content on the Investment Profile pages assists investors in making the most of this valuable information.

Personalized company letter - Whether it’s from the company president or another senior officer, a letter can speak directly to readers about the value of the Investment Guide, the company, the investment plans, or other important topics.

Cover design: Standard or customized

Morningstar’s award-winning design team developed the overall layout of the Investment Guide for readability, accessibility, and aesthetic quality. Each Investment Guide is produced to exact standards. For the cover, clients can select from several Morningstar-designed templates, or they can specify requirements for a cover to be developed by the Morningstar design team.

Streamlined production: Putting the Investment Guide together

Once the components of the Investment Guide are selected, Morningstar works with clients throughout the production process—whether or not we coordinate the printing and delivery. Morningstar will create the entire Investment Guide using print-ready software so that it can go right to press. We can also take care of the printing process—from securing the best print pricing to reviewing samples with clients prior to final production and onsite supervision during printing.
