Morningstar® Integrated Web Tools can be deployed in a variety of ways to meet the needs of firms that already have robust websites or those with limited to no web presence. Its building block structure allows for flexible and seamless deployments—firms can incorporate their own design elements, choose the investment data to offer, create and deliver model portfolios, and specify settings on a user-by-user basis. Morningstar marketing and design experts help firms select the most appropriate configuration to meet a website’s objectives.
Flexible reports: Customizable at the firm level
Many of the reports available through Integrated Web Tools are FINRA-reviewed and ready for distribution to investors. But they can also be customized to meet a firm’s marketing strategy. This not only allows users to present a firm’s investments within a client portfolio, but also gives the firm a marketing opportunity in each report—whether it’s through a custom cover page, dedicated marketing one-sheets included with each report, or in the disclosure language.

Reports can be delivered in the areas of a website where they complement the content that’s already there. For example, a fund profile page could offer a link that allows users to instantly generate an Investment Detail™ report summarizing key performance, investment style, portfolio, and operations information for a selected fund. Integrated Web Tools makes it easy to strengthen existing information with enhanced functionality.
Website design: Adaptable elements
Integrated Web Tools solutions easily match the look and feel of any website. A firm simply applies its stylesheet, fonts, standard labels, and icons—and the content becomes cohesive with the rest of the site. Or firms can choose to leverage the Morningstar brand by incorporating Morningstar’s design.
Data selection: In-depth investment information
To provide the best experience for their users, firms can select the type of investments they would like to present in their tools from Morningstar’s global database. For the Screener and Find Similar Funds capabilities, firms can choose which of more than 200 data points they want to make available to users through these tools.
Portfolio analysis: Fund-level model portfolios
The portfolio analysis and comparison capabilities in Integrated Web Tools can incorporate fund-level model portfolios, allowing firms to present their best product lineup and saving advisors the time spent researching individual investments. These portfolios can be created and delivered by the licensing firm. Or professionals at Ibbotson Associates or Morningstar Associates can develop model portfolios that best meet a firm’s objectives.
User groups: Pre-determined access thresholds
With Integrated Web Tools, firms can tailor the capabilities to accommodate the needs of various user groups—from internal wholesalers, to research staff, to various client audiences. Some of the controls at the user level include data universes, data points, report options, or limits on access to specific features and functions.
