CHICAGO, Jun 04, 2001 Morningstar Associates, LLC, has expanded its alliance with SunGard Corbel, making Morningstar® ClearFutureSM available to nine national third-party administrators served by Relius Administration, SunGard Corbel's recordkeeping software. The newest providers of the Morningstar ClearFuture online retirement planning service collectively administer more than 1,000 plans with a reach of more than 50,000 retirement plan participants. The plan sponsors include American Express Tax and Business Services, Compensation Strategies, Correll Companies, Gasaway and Associates, Ingham Group, Macatawa Bank, RSM McGladrey, Secured Trust Bank, and Pen-Cal.
Morningstar ClearFuture, currently available through more than 8,700 corporate retirement plans throughout the United States, offers sophisticated research, education, investment guidance and/or advice to all levels of investors. ClearFuture uses a goals-based approach to allow plan participants to examine the relationships between long- and short-term risk, asset mix, and retirement income so they can determine the probability of reaching their financial goals. The service also provides either asset-allocation suggestions or specific investment advice by creating one diversified, optimal portfolio using the best investment options available in the participant's company-sponsored retirement plan(s).
Through Morningstar's alliance with SunGard Corbel, retirement plan participants will access the ClearFuture modules, research, education, and advice, via Relius Administration Participant Web, SunGard Corbel's Web application for participants. Each participant can access ClearFuture with preloaded information such as his or her plan investment options, name, date of birth, salary, and balances for their retirement accounts and loans. After reviewing the recommended portfolio composed of investment options available in participants' 401(k) plans, participants will be able to immediately implement their new retirement allocation through a link from Morningstar ClearFuture to Relius Administration Participant Web.
"Our alliance with SunGard Corbel is off to a tremendous start, expanding our reach to company-sponsored retirement plans," said John Rekenthaler, president of Morningstar's Online Advice business unit. "We are committed to helping participants build better portfolios, and we are continually making enhancements to ClearFuture that will allow participants greater flexibility in their retirement planning."
"Our initial goal of providing affordable participant investment advice and education from an industry-leading provider has become a reality," said Don Mackanos, president of SunGard Corbel. "Our relationship with Morningstar enables our clients to bring the household name in investment advice to the market at an extremely attractive price."
