The Team: Morningstar`s Software division manages all of our software products and services for institutions, advisors, and individuals. Products include Morningstar Direct, a global research platform for institutions; Morningstar Advisor Workstation, a research and investment planning software platform for financial advisors; and Morningstar.com, an investment website with research, data, and tools for individual investors. We also provide custom tools for investment professionals looking for a more tailored solution.

The Role: In this role you will work with multifunctional disciplines, including content providers, database administrators, QA, clients and sales professionals to support and improve complex investment software used by institutions, advisors and individuals to develop and monitor investments. This position is based in Chicago.

Responsibilities
+ Coordinate database changes and improvements for products.
+ Implement and test third party data/content projects for products, and apply knowledge of database management systems during the projects.
+ Coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard software databases.
+ Lead new third party content related product development and implementation, with using data collection platforms such as Data Manager.
+ Perform automated QA scripting of large financial data sets, and manage data product workflow by using technologies such as XML and Web Services, to store and transfer data.
+ Work within complex database structures and implement improvements related to data transmission, data storage and entitlement structure.
+ Gather, prioritize, manage and communicate index requests from our clients in cooperation with the data collection team in Shenzhen, China.

Requirements
+ A master`s degree in computer science or a related field.
+ A minimum of 1 year of experience in software development (or a bachelor`s degree plus 5 years of experience).
+ Experience performing automated QA scripting of large financial data sets.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage data product workflow by using technologies such as XML and Web Services, to store and transfer data.
+ Capable of leading new third party content related product development and implementation together with QA, developers and database administrators, with using data collection platforms such as Data Manager.
+ A deep understanding of database structure, data product workflow, entitlement process and data products.
