SANTIAGO, 12 March 2012—Morningstar Chile, a subsidiary of Morningstar, Inc. (NASDAQ: MORN), a leading provider of independent investment research, will host a seminar for institutional investors, “Asset Allocation in the 21st Century,” on Wednesday, March 28, at the Ritz-Carlton in Santiago.
Cindy Tsai, CFA, CAIA, senior research analyst for Morningstar, will present best practices in asset allocation and discuss new methodologies that position investors defensively against extreme market events. The seminar will focus on portfolio optimization strategies, the shortcomings of mean-variance optimization, and asset allocation models that are available in Morningstar DirectSM, the company’s web-based global investment analysis platform for institutional investors. At Morningstar, Tsai is responsible for conducting and managing quantitative research initiatives, implementing methodologies across the company, and developing new analytical tools.
