We focus on financial data, software development, business development, client services, institutional selling, research, and editorial.
The Role: Morningstar has an immediate opening for a Sales Manager based in the Asia-Pacific region who will be motivated by the challenge of growing our investment analysis software business. This person will lead a team of sales managers representing our flagship institutional software products, Morningstar Direct, Workstation and EnCorr. We are looking for a self-starter who will ensure outstanding client service and excellent sales results by fostering a deep understanding of how clients use Morningstar software to drive their businesses.
Responsibilities
+ Manage the team on a day-to-day basis and personally manage a small number of our larger client relationships.
+ Uncover new business initiatives, business drivers, and critical success factors, while also identifying commonalities within our client base to help generate new revenue opportunities for you and the team.
+ Provide proactive and continuous coaching to the team and lead by example, particularly during demanding sales and relationship management situations. Other management responsibilities will include driving performance through daily management of metrics such as calls, meetings, and trials by sales people, maintaining appropriate staffing levels; balancing each employee`s workload with new business, increased account share, and renewing or retaining clients; and helping create and monitor the team`s sales and account plans.
+ Work with product & marketing teams to plan activities that will increase awareness of our products and drive leads to the sales team including but not limited to advertising, direct marketing, and events.
+ Collaborate with the consulting team, who ensures that clients and trial users get the most out of our products.
+ Take part in user forums and other activities such as conferences and exhibitions with prospects and clients.
+ Manage the accurate and timely reporting and forecasting of new and renewal business to senior management.
Requirements
+ 5 or more years of sales management or business development experience within the financial services marketplace.
+ Prior experience selling or managing sales of software to institutions will be preferred.
+ A demonstrated ability to work systematically and analytically.
+ A leader who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and has strong customer relationship building skills and a history of exceeding client expectations.
+ A proven high-performance track record, effective organization and time-management skills, and long-range planning skills.
+ A bachelor`s degree; an advanced degree or CFA designation will be advantageous.
