Benelux Regional Database Leader

The Team: The Data division is responsible for collecting and maintaining data on approximately 380,000 investment offerings, including stocks, mutual funds, and similar vehicles. We also provide institutional clients with investment data solutions such as Licensed Data, one of the Morningstar`s largest business lines.

The Role: Morningstar Benelux and the Global Fund Operations Team are looking for a current star who we can entrust to move to Luxembourg and manage responsibility for one of the most important fund databases in the world to Morningstar. The ideal candidate is someone who has had data experience in their past and a significant amount of Morningstar experience. With over 40k+ investments and AUM $2.3 trillion, Luxembourg domiciled funds touch nearly every European and Asian market and this market drives the fund industries around the world. In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of our vast database, including its sources, use, and opportunities for improvements. Additionally, you will partner with our business development leaders to identify and drive new data acquisition, calculation and product opportunities.

Responsibilities
+ Drive the continuous enhancement of our Luxembourg data coverage, quality, and efficiency.
+ Partner with business and product development to create great products for our Luxembourg data.
+ Initiate and manage relationships with third-party contacts, including mutual fund and insurance companies, transfer agents and custodians.
+ Work closely with our China operations teams and the European Regional Director to develop our global processing capabilities.
+ Lead a locally based analyst team as well as an extended Luxembourg team based in other local EU operations.
+ Established Data Champion and expert regarding investment data points and calculations.
+ Define and drive team deliverables, create project deadlines, and monitor key performance indicators to track the progress of individuals and the team.
+ Continuously evaluate procedures, create and enhance analytical tools, and implement process improvement projects.
+ Provide data leadership for client implementations and relationships.

Requirements
+ A detail-oriented creative thinker with strong analytical approach to problem solving and communications skills.
+ 1+ years of management experience.
+ Proven ability to work in a small team.
+ A self-starter that excels at meeting strict deadlines with a high volume of work.
+ Able to direct the work of others (either as a line manager or a project leader), who understands the complex structures of various investment vehicles and can articulate a passion for investing.
+ Strong team and relationship building skills.
+ Morningstar product knowledge
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, French is a plus.
+ A bachelor`s degree.
