The Team: Morningstar Europe has provided independent investment research since 2000. We offer diverse products and services ranging from investment data and research, to software solutions and consulting. The European HR team is a team of four responsible for all HR operations across Europe, South Africa, and Latin America. In addition to local HR support, the team is also involved in global HR projects including compensation, learning and development, and talent management.

For this European HR Advisor role, we need someone who can understand our corporate culture and the kinds of people who succeed at Morningstar, while supporting our HR practices and understanding how our employees work together worldwide. This is a hands-on generalist role in which you will be responsible for a large team in our UK operations as well as some of our smaller subsidiaries across Europe. This position is based in our London office.
Responsibilities
+ Work closely with business leaders to align human resource initiatives with business strategy.
+ Recruit and retain the best and the brightest employees.
+ Advise managers and employees on employee relations concerns and guide employees on policies and procedures.
+ Evaluate the effectiveness of our organisational structure to make sure it can support short- and long-term business goals.
+ Manage compensation processes, including bonuses, equity grants, and salary increases.
+ Oversee employee benefits, as well as recommend and manage improvements.
+ Devise training and development programs for employees that grow skill sets and align them with the long-term direction of the business.
+ Foster a great work environment that allows employees to do their best work.
Requirements
+ Previous HR experience gained in a progressive, dynamic environment.
+ Strong analytical skills and the ability to strategically solve problems.
+ Ability to build strong relationships, earning the confidence and trust of senior managers and team members.
+ Genuine interest in building up business knowledge to pro-actively support business leaders with the management of their teams.
+ Proven "hands-on" approach with the ability to work collaboratively or independently.
+ Successful record of managing multiple projects concurrently.
+ Ability to competently manage a wide range of employee relations issues.
+ University degree or its equivalent; professional HR qualification or some commercial experience would be useful.
+ Proficiency in a second European language in addition to English is desirable.
