The Team: Morningstar Germany`s data team is accountable for the management and development of Morningstar`s proprietary investment funds database for Germany and Austria. Internally, the data team is responsible for the collection, validation, and provision of the highest quality, most comprehensive and timely data. Externally, the Fund Data team strengthens our communication and relationships with our fund data providers as well as fund data clients.

The Role: Morningstar Germany seeks a motivated Data Relationship Manager to oversee projects and take responsibility for data coverage, quality, and timeliness. This position is based in our Frankfurt, Germany office.

Responsibilities
+ Collect European fund data while managing relationships with mutual fund and insurance companies.
+ Take ownership of the data collection process and maintain Morningstar data quality by making sure we collect timely and complete information and calculate correct values to maintain and improve the quality of our database. This will include researching and analyzing investment data, mining data, conducting trend and algorithm analyses, and reviewing variance reports to identify suspicious information.
+ Gather data from various regulatory documents, such as annual reports and prospectuses.
+ Evaluate procedures, create and enhance analytical tools, add data to our products, and implement process improvement projects.
+ Become an expert on investment data points and calculations in order to respond to questions from both internal groups and clients.

Requirements
+ A passion for investing and an eagerness to learn the nuances of mutual fund accounting, insurance investment products, portfolio analysis, and performance reporting.
+ Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills are needed to excel at managing a high volume of data.
+ Strong math skills, as well as the ability to decipher dense financial and legal language.
+ This independent person should excel at driving improvements, taking the initiative, and meeting strict deadlines.
+ Candidates must be comfortable and diplomatic working with a team and clients.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German are required.
+ A bachelor`s degree in Finance or related area.
