The Role: In this position, you will play a key role in business development efforts by acting as subject matter expert for Morningstar Direct`s Performance Attribution and Portfolio Analysis capabilities in the business development process. You will work closely with the institutional software sales team, client solutions consultants, and product managers, as well as with prospective new clients to ensure that Performance Attribution and Portfolio Analysis projects needed to secure new business are handled efficiently and effectively. This is a Chicago-based position.

Responsibilities
+ Demonstrate Performance Attribution and Portfolio Analysis capabilities to prospective new clients, including product functionality and methodology. Clients include asset management firms, wealth management platforms, institutional consultants and institutional investors.
+ Help create solutions for prospective new clients by replicating their existing performance attribution analysis and reporting in Morningstar Direct. The primary focus will be on streamlining the attribution analysis process, including on-boarding new portfolio imports, comparing performance attribution results from incumbent products with reports generated in Morningstar Direct, ensuring that existing processes and results can be replicated or improved in Morningstar Direct.
+ Determine priority of new business acquisition projects (with the assistance of sales and product management) and communicate project status to stakeholders. Certain projects may require longer-term project management.
+ Work with product management and product development teams to ensure that future product development reflects market needs.
+ Act as a liaison between Morningstar`s Institutional Software business and Morningstar`s Back Office Services business to ensure that portfolio reconciliation needs are met most efficiently. This includes involvement in pricing strategy and taking the lead role in Back Office Services project initiation.
+ Conduct competitive analysis on relevant competitors to better position Morningstar Direct solutions versus competitor solutions, and to educate sales force on the same.

Requirements
+ A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in the investment industry.
+ Investment data knowledge.
+ Proven project management skills with hands-on experience completing visible projects, preferably in a software environment.
+ Experience in a client-facing role, preferably with clients who have sophisticated investment knowledge.
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
+ A bachelor`s degree.
+ A CFA designation or progress towards this designation is highly valued.
+ Custodian/portfolio holdings knowledge is a plus.
