The Team: Morningstar`s Investment Management division consists of three business units, Investment Advisory, Retirement Solutions, and Managed Portfolios. We use our expertise in asset allocation, manager research, and portfolio construction to create innovative investment solutions for institutions, advisors, and investors. The Managed Portfolios group develops actively managed mutual fund, stock and ETF portfolios for investors.
The Role: Managed Portfolios is seeking a SQL Server Database Developer. This position will be part of an IT team which is focused on updating Managed Portfolio`s core web site and systems as well as automating data related activities. The position includes database development of new systems, maintenance of existing applications and database administration. A successful candidate will be able to multi-task and prioritize assignments towards meeting project deadlines. This position is based in our Chicago office.
Responsibilities
+ Development and maintenance of database schemas, procedures and processes.
+ Database reporting, monitoring and support.
+ Participate in development, testing, and implementation of new web-related products and applications as well as maintenance of existing systems.
Requirements
+ 3-5 years development experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2000/2008) including designing database schemas and relationships.
+ 1-3 years experience with SQL Server Reporting Services.
+ Proven SQL Server TSQL skills in creating efficient stored procedures and functions.
+ Must have experience with XML structures.
+ Experience with C# and ASP.NET technologies is a plus.
+ Experience working in Agile development methodologies a plus.
+ Highly motivated individual with the potential and desire to learn new technologies and take on an increasing level of responsibility within the technology team.
+ Ability to work independently, communicates effectively, and produces superior results.
+ A bachelor`s degree in computer science, mathematics, or other related field.
+ Experience within the financial services industry is desirable.
