The Team: Morningstar France’s finance team is responsible for all accounting activities within our French legal entities. Working within a small finance team, this role offers great potential to develop and grow. You will work closely with colleagues in other European offices, as well as with the Chicago corporate finance team.
The Role: In this role, you will support the French Financial Controller in all finance related areas. This position is ideal for somebody with an accounting background who would like to build a career and gain a broad experience in the field. This position is based in our Paris office.
+ Be involved in accounting processes including revenue recognition, invoicing, accounts receivable, cash collections, accounts payable, and general ledger.
+ Play a key role in Morningstar`s global internal control environment, making sure that all local financial information is appropriate for use in Morningstar’s consolidated financial statements in the U.S.
+ All aspects of local payroll accounting, which will include coordinating with Human Resources in France and in the U.K. and an outsourced payroll provider.
+ Ensure finance processes are documented and improvements are made as required.
+ Knowledge of IFRS / French and U.S. GAAP, including experience with payroll accounting.
+ Willingness to dig into the details and embrace the less glamorous aspects of the job.
+ Inquisitive and frugal with strong project management and communication skills.
+ An aptitude for financial systems, especially Oracle financial applications and Hyperion. Good skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint are required.
+ An accounting qualification is also desirable (DCG/DSCG).
+ Fluent in French and English.
